A Programme of Sindhi music and Traditional Sindhi Bhagat by Mr. Ghansham Vaswani and Bhagat Arjan was held on 14th February 2002 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium of the Indian High School, Dubai.
Among many prominent dignitaries, more than 1500 Sindhis of Dubai and neighboring Emirates attended the programme.
Mr. Ghansham Vaswani in his repertoire had immortal songs by late Master Chander, which evoked many nostalgic feelings and deserved applause. His rendering of Geet and Ghazal of late Narain Shyam was also well received by highly appreciative audience.
Traditional Sindhi Bhagat by group led by Bhagat Arjan of Ahmedabad held audience in repurs. His anecdotes from life of immortal Saint Bhagat Kanwar Sahib were effective and touched emotional chord of the listeners who responded by showing currency notes for Bhagat as a token of appreciation.
Such programmes go a long way to strengthen cultural awareness among Sindhis and keep them in touch with their cultural roots and traditions. Asha Chand deserves kudos for having organized such an event.

Ghanshaam Vaswani
Gifted with a melodious voice, Ghansham Vaswani comes as a discovery from the well known ghazal maestro Shri Jagjit Singh. Born to Shri Santu Vaswani, a popular singer of Sindhi folk, Ghansham has had initial exposure to music at home. In spite of having a highly qualified academic background, Ghansham has chosen music as his main line of pursuit. With the aesthetic nuances and freshness of voice, Ghansham holds a very bright promise for the future. Ghansham has been regularly performing all over the country and abroad. Having toured Hong Kong. Taiwan, Japan, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, South Africa and USA. He has recently composed music for CD "Forget me not". The compositions are sung by Shri Jagjit Singh, who is also his mentor.
About Bhagat Arjan
Ahmedabad-based Bhagat Arjan is a traditional Bhagat singer, who is a direct descendent of the Bhagat clan. The Sindhi Bhagat tradition handed down from generation to generation has been perfected by Bhagat Arjan. Good looking and gified with a velvety voice, he is among the youngest Bhagats who still dance with the traditional robes jama and pagdi. His programmes are regularly featured on radio and television. Bhagat Arjan is a popular performer at religious festivals and gatherings in villages as well as cities.
