Asha Chand is not a new name in the Sindhi literary and cultural circles. With her consistent hard work and undying love for “all that is Sindhi”, she is widely recognized as one of the foremost names in Sindhi literary circles.
Daughter of illustrious literary parents, Smt. Sundri Uttamchandani and Shri A. J. Uttam, both of who rank in topmost few of Sindhi literature, Asha Chand was groomed from childhood in arts like music, dance and drama in which field she excelled.
She found her niche initially in the field of comparing and later in organizing / conducting various programs at national and international level. She is a very successful events organizer, having organized large, well-attended Sindhi shows in Dubai. She was invited at Orlando, USA in the year 1998 and at Los Angeles in the year 2001 to compere International Sindhi Sammelans. Her resonant and musical voice captivates the audience instantly.
She devotes her full time and energy to the promotion of Sindhi language with a missionary zeal, making utmost use of the newer mediums like electronics media, the net and audio-visual medium. She has popularized Sindhi literature by producing a large number of audio CDs as “Audio Books”.
She has produced Sindhi language learning CD-ROM titled “Lets learn Sindhi” - the first of its kind in the world. She has recently taken upon herself the challenging task of producing Sindhi tele-films and sindhi music videos to promote Sindhi language through the powerful video media. Her first production, a one hour Sindhi tele-film titled “Vilayati Ghot Ji Golha” has been very well received.
